Greetings:

I want to be able to obtain, and graph, the position of some GPS satellites.

I can envision putting the GPS receiver into a debug mode which would spit out the SV #, lat, lon, elevation of a GPS satellite, but the NEMA and SIRF messages only appear to support providing the end solution and not the datum used.

Has anyone come across a means to extract this data from a GPS receiver?

That’s an interesting idea but I’m not sure we have much info to help you with this. One thing that comes to mind is you might want to take a look at u-blox modules and their [u-center software. There are a TON of configuration options you can adjust for various messages and data so that would be what I would start with for this project.](u-center)
