Has BatchPCB shutdown?

The scripting for uploading stuff is still active but no-one is answering emails and posts on this forum about problems (most of them being the international delivery option which hasn’t been functional since January).

Have they shutdown production for some reason and forgetton to update the news thread? Is the service being discontinued (hence why they are not fixing the delivery problem)? Is GoldPhoenix (or whoever are used) getting an overhaul so orders cannot be processed yet?

I have dealt with Sparkfun quite a few times and everytime they are above perfect so why is BatchPCB not working?

BatchPCB has not shut down. The shipping option fiasco is still an on-going issue currently and we are working on a new website that will fix all the bugs within the website. Here is what we can do for you if you are having International Shipping issues.

“Hello all, I sympathize with your complaints and they are no going unheard. Our IT depart is still trying to figure out this bug in our system that will not allow International customers to be able to choose USPS shipping functions. If you are not able to choose a shipping function and there is not one available there is not much we can do at the moment. If you are able to at least choose FedEx, you can choose to keep that shipping method or I can manually switch it to USPS and refund you the difference. I will just need you to email suport@batchpcb.com your invoice so I know who to refund the money back to. Sorry for the inconvenience, I know this is frustrating. If you have any other questions email me at Support@batchpcb.com

We are still processing orders and shipping them out as usual.

Email us at Support@batchpcb.com if you have any specific questions.

Oh thats at least some good news on the problem thank you for the reply.

Is there anyway an immediate intermediate fix can be done to help those (like myself) that have no shipping option? such as manual USPS or paypal request (you sort the order out with delivery then send invoice through paypal (account specified in order comments) for us to pay and then you can confirm after.

Just seems a lot of business is being lost

with all due respect, I tried that and my two requests for a manual switch from fedex to usps were ignored. See my post here:

I’ve been using OurPCB for many years and I’m checking out BatchPCB as single board prototypes look like they will be cheaper. However I don’t seem to be able to get through the checkout process. Initially I tried with paypal but I keep getting an “Oops, Trainwreck” error message. I now have 7 orders “pending” and so I am a little reluctant to try paying by credit card in case these previous orders get billed too.

But after trying for two days with paypal I decided to try putting through an order via credit card. However, now the “Shipping Options” have disappeared and it won’t even progress to the next screen as it says that no shipping options have been selected.

So I’m a bit stuck. Does anyone have any clues as to how to negotiate the checkout process? Many thanks in advance.

I just tried a paypal order myself and it blew up with a ‘oops train wreck’ message as well.

Resubmitted the order with Visa checkout and it worked fine.

Its lovely that you guys still get shipping options and a way to process (although the USPS manual may have slipped for some) but I have no options at all so cannot proceed in anyway.

Oops train wreck is the only description I can think of for this continuing situation. Over 5 months of trying to fix the USPS problem is not exactly speedy (whether that is just the API or an entire site).

The ValueProto service over at Sunstone is still running strong. Similar pricing, and they GUARANTEE a 10 day delivery. Just my $0.02.

The PayPal issue should have been fixed now - sorry about that!

As for the rest of the BPCB problems; it’s undergoing pretty much a complete re-design/re-write, but it’s a long and tedious process, especially since IT’s swamped with even more important projects, unfortunately. We do not yet have a release date for the new BatchPCB, but it should be much nicer to use, and a lot less prone to error.

Thank you for your patience.

More important than keeping business, maintaining reputation and satisfying customers? Would seem the halo is slipping.

Thanks Dr_Acula and NolanGJohnson hopefully its UK delivery too.

Woot! Much rejoicing - it all works perfectly now with paypal. Thanks++ for fixing this. I’m getting 3 different prototype boards for $92 total, and before I would have paid around $250. This is absolutely brilliant - thanks BatchPCB!

Just a quick update - the boards arrived 16 days after ordering, and that was delivery to Australia. I am very impressed. Off to design some new boards…
