heart rate receiver module / polar coded algorithm

Hi all,

I once had a project using a heart rate receiver (for use with a usual heartrate transmitter). I used it together with a polar coded breast strap which used the polar coded feature.

the receiver counted the peaks of the transmitter’s transmission. the problem was, that the number of peaks per heart beat changed from time to time on startup (i guess because of the coding feature).

I now treid to get receiver modules from polar, but they should cost 25 € each.

I wonder if there exists any information/experience in setting up a heart rate receiver which can handele the coded polar signals?

thanks

Alex

I haven’t built this… but i came across the link a while back

skot123, thanks for posting the link. I hadn’t realized that the frequency used was so low, but why not? I may have to play around with one of these over the winter.

Hi skot123,

my first try was based on that. using an oscilloscope, one can see that the # of peaks and so on changes. the problem is to figure out how to identify a special transmitter.
