help with file extensions

Hi,

I am using Diptrace to create my PCB. I keep getting the “BatchPCB is locking down” message. I beleive I am using the correct extensions. Attached is a screen shot.

Any suggestions on what is preventing me from loading the files?

Thanks

Filenames look good. Are those all zipped into a file named *.zip, which is the file you upload ?

yes, all zipped with a program called jzip

So that image you captured showing your filenames is from a JZip screen.

I have not tried submitting a design since before the change was made in which only specified filename extensions were permitted. Does the BatchPCB upload process show your filenames, indicating that it correctly unzipped your zip file?

If not, I would try making a zip file with a new name in Windows, and pasting those files into that zip file file. To do that, in windows Explorer, right click into your Documents folder, and choose New > Compressed (zipped) folder. Click into that compressed folder and paste the files. Then re-submit and click your way to the new compressed folder during the upload process.

I believe it is complaining about your outline layer. I don’t have any of my designs with me right now to check, but if you use the SparkFun CAM, outline is placed on top copper. Try uploading without the outline layer and see if that works.

An outline file is allowed. See http://batchpcb.com/index.php/Faq#How%2 … my%20board See viewtopic.php?f=16&t=21946 for some comments.

If you do put an outline in the top copper as your method, how big do your boards turn out? Do they match the outside, inside, or center of the line?

I’ve used both 0mil and 8mil outline traces (0 usually, 8 if the DRC Bot has a fit), and each time the board comes back exactly where I put them (read, center of the line) with no copper border.

I figured it out. BatchPCB doesn’t like .zip files created with jzip (a free compression software). I used winzip with the exact same file extensions as shown above and it worked.

Thanks for your comments.
