I bought a Venus 6 breakout board and the matching SMA antenna.
I want to use it directly as a UART. I plugged it into my breadboard for testing, connected 3.3V to the “3.3V” pin, grounded, jumpered across from 3.3V to VBat and the device powers up. There is no blinking upon startup nor after several days of powerup. I have it sitting next to a full wall window with no blinds. My car GPS locks no problem from this location.
I think the instructions are vague so let me ask some questions.
What are the board jumper settings supposed to be for VBat and IO24?
I just want a simple serial connection. I soldered up a serial connector with pin 2,3 representing TX/RX and pin 5 ground (a typical serial connection).
I downloaded the GPS tracker software thinking I could connect to the device. Nothing. I would at least expect it to say connected - no lock or something similar.
Should the device “NAV” LED blink or otherwise indicate a lock or transmit?
Is there any documentation to get this thing working?

My eventual goal is to connect this (and several other devices) to a embedded MCU and log to a SD card. Everything else is working, this is the last piece of the puzzle.
