I have 12v connected to the com terminal on a normally closed relay. When the relay is switched to normally open, the outgoing 12v from the NC terminal is disrupted as intended. However, the disruption is not instantaneous. It takes about 2 seconds to drop from 12v to >1v. Is there a way to wire the outgoing 12v so it will disconnect instantly?
Unless you’re using some sort of time delay relay, it sounds like you have something that’s holding a charge that takes a bit to bleed off. There’s really no fix for that other than having another load connected in parallel with whatever device is holding that charge. Even then, it probably won’t drop to zero instantly but it would cause it to discharge faster.
