How to make top layer polygon without solder mask in Eagle?

Hi!

I am trying to design a board, which needs solder mounted heatsinks on top of some SMD mounted transistors.

I have created a polygon on the top layer, which is where the heatsink will be soldered to, but I’m pretty sure that polygon will be covered by a solder mask, when I send the board to production.

Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

Thanks a lot in advance!

It’s really easy. tStop is a negative layer, so anything you put there will not have mask. Just draw your polygon in the tStop layer.

Using vias to sink heat to a polygon on the other side would significantly increase thermal performance.
