Eagle can't delete polygon

I created a schematic and routed it and created ground planes for the top and bottom. I then, decided to add some more components so I ripped up the signals and then tried to delete the ground plane polygons. However, on both top and bottom layers, there is still like a line that is left of a polygon that I can’t seem to delete. This has happened before, anyone know exactly what causes this and/or how I can fix it? (Eagle 5.10.0)

Use the RIPUP tool for polygons.

Well, I just restarted the program and it went away. Another question, when I create my gerber files, what are the soldermask layers supposed to look like? Right now They just show where the soldermask shouldn’t be (over pads), is this correct? I would think it should look like the opposite.

That’s correct. The masked areas are where the soldermask shouldn’t be.
