I would have already bought five more wave trigger pros , if it would operate the way it says

I really appreciate you sending the files. How ever nothing changed. Note 1234 only plays track 1234. I didn’t use your wav file. Four sixty four in my files is a crash symbol. No triggers went to 4 sixty four.

Don’t really know what to tell you. I fully tested those files before posting them. Please do the following: Copy just my two files to an otherwise blank, FAT32-formatted microSD card. The .wav file and the .csv file. Nothing else. Don’t change anything. Put the card in the WAV Trigger Pro and reset - either press the reset button or power cycle. Then try the triggers.

If that doesn’t work, I suggest you arrange a return with SparkFun.

I noticed the MIDI channel column set at 0.Should I change that? Again I appreciate your help.

I will wipe the s d and try your suggestion.

Like I said above… just copy those two files to an otherwise blank microSD card. Don’t change anything, including the filenames. Make sure you reset or power cycle the WAV Trigger Pro after installing the card.

We were getting close now. The card will work when I extract the wave and c s v zip file to the sd card. But if I make a copy of the CS V uploaded into sheets Then the downloaded copy will not work even if I change nothing. For some reason, the wave pro is not reading c.S v from sheets downloads. So I have no way to edit. That’s why the very first sheets link in your post would not work for me either.

When you download, what format do you select? Are you taking the file out of your downloads folder and placing it on the SD card? Do you have Excel on your computer? You can edit the .csv in Excel as well. Just don’t save it as an .xls file, save it as .csv

The Google Sheets file contains a few conveniences that aren’t recovered from the .csv file and therefore aren’t present if you start by importing a .csv. Specifically, the “Action” column contains a drop-down list of the available actions. Just makes it easier to see what you’re doing.

What I do to create a new preset is open an existing Google Sheets preset (in Google Sheets), then select File→Make A Copy, rename it and edit that. Then do File→Download→.csv. which will create the .csv file and put it in your download folder. Finally, you need change the name of the downloaded .csv file to be in the form of “nnnn_set.csv”, where nnnn is the preset number. “0001_set.csv”, if it exists, is loaded on power up or reset.

So try going to the link to the Google Sheets preset that I provided above, make a copy, then without changing anything, download and rename the .csv file. It should be identical to the .csv file I provided.

The Very first sheet file titled triggers you gave me will not work in my wave pro. That is a view only c s v on sheets. I made a copy of it and if I edit it or not , when I download it and put it on my s.d it still does not work. I’m Downloading sheets in c s v.

I Also made a copy in sheets of the c s v in the zip file You gave me. It will not work either. I can save the CS V in the zip file anywhere on my computer and then use that on my SD and it will work. But not if I edit it or not in sheets..

Seems like if I could edit it on my computer without using sheets and save it in a csv file it wouldn’t be a problem. But I don’t have excel or anything like that.

I’m going to recommend that you contact SparkFun to return the WAV Trigger Pro and exchange it for a WAV Trigger, which has a GUI app for configuring all the programmable features including the triggers. Doesn’t require .csv files or Google Sheets. Much easier. The WAV Trigger Pro is really geared towards USB MIDI, and the WAV Trigger has twice as many triggers.

If you want to keep at it, the only thing I can suggest is old fashioned troubleshooting. If you open my original read-only trigger Google Sheets preset (link above) in Google Sheets and save it to your computer as a .csv file, it should be identical in contents to the .csv file that I sent in the .zip. Because that exactly how I created it. If it doesn’t work, then clearly, it’s not identical. Open them both in a text editor and see what’s different, or use a file compare utility.

I opened them both ln notepad and they are identical.

Put both files in here, see what it says. It could be as simple as an extra comma somewhere.

Failing that, I HAVE used the WAV Trigger, it’s bulletproof, It just works*. You might see if Sparkfun will do an exchange.

*You do have to strip the metadata from your WAV files for them to play.

Can I ask you what operating system you’re using? And also what browser are you using?

Also , can you tell me if the wave trigger also has presets?

Mine is windows seven.

The WAV Trigger has a configuration file. There is a program you can use to generate that file OR you can edit it by hand.

Directions and links to the configuration file editor are in the links below, I suggest reading through both to get up to speed on the WAV Trigger.

I don’t think wave triggers for me. The reason I want the pro is because of presets and other things.I thought it could do.

I’ve created a dedicated web application to create, open, edit and save WAV Trigger Pro presets without needing to use any spreadsheet app. I’ve only been working on it for two days. It’s not perfect, and not done, but it works well enough that I’ve been able to duplicate the trigger demo preset that I made for you. You are welcome to give it a try.

You can get to the app here.

The csv preset that this created is here. The app can open this preset after you download the csv file to your computer and you can go from there, or you can just start a new preset from the app.

Please be patient with the app. I put it out now so you’d have something to try, and I already know a lot of its shortcomings. But it should be good enough to get you started.
