IAR EWARM + Jtagkey-Tiny

Hi,

I am setting up low cost dev environment for ARM processor. I know that IAR has a 32KB KickStart edition of their EWARM, and it works with FTDI chip on Luminary Micro eval board with driver from LM.

Question:

If I use Jtagkey-Tiny from Amontec, will it work with IAR EWARM on any other ARM processors? My objective is simple: low cost, and I dont have time to play with open source tools. Please point me in the right direction if you have alternative solution.

I wonder about IAR compatibility and support for that JTAG.

J-link, if you shop around can be affordable. Spending a few bucks on JTAG is well worth it - especially “flash breakpoints”, where you can have more than 2 breakpoints.

I would not want a JTAG that isn’t fully integrated with the IDE. Too much of a PITA to use in debugging.
