I have an iDigi-Wi9P Zigbee starter kit. It comes with a gateway module, and a Wi-9P board. I one end of the ethernet into an hub , and the other end to the Wi-9p board , on which the gateway module rests. My desktop is also connected to the same hub. When I run the Digi device discovery app., it fails to discover the gateway module. The desktop, is in a lab with each desktop being assigned a specific static IP. Is this causing an issue ? Can I assign an IP to the gateway module ( it comes only with a MAC ).
1- Is the Processor board running, the LED on the board should be blinking. If not check all the dip switches.
2- Follow the get started guide to the letter.
3- Check into the Digi Int Support Forum. There you will find many threads one of which may help you and many people experienced with Digi Gateway boards.
I got mine working but don’t remember ever using the Digi device discovery. I typed the IP address directly into Internet Explorer’s address line.
The starter guide says : the network dynamically assigns the IP to the gateway. You said , you directly type in the IP of the gateway , that is precisely one of my main issues - The module, does not come with an IP, it comes with a MAC. The digi discovery helps to see the IP assigned to the module by the network.
Thanks for your suggestions, I would really appreciate if you can help me further.
