Inbuilt temperature sensors on the MSP430s

Hello Everyone,

I was one of the few who stayed up all night to get my little hands on the new eZ430-RF2500 development tools. I have now received them and have had a little play around with them and have noticed the temperature sensor on the hub board shows as an incredibly high temperature compared to the room temperature (27 instead of 17degrees c). I was just wondering if anyone has used the inbuilt temperature sensors for any of their projects and have noticed the same kind of thing. I wouldn’t have thought that an MSP430 would have produced that much heat when doing a moderately minimal amount of processing.

Cheers

The temperature sensor needs to be calibrated - see the user’s guide.

When did they update the site to let you request the free kits? I stayed up til 1:00 am Eastern and it still wasn’t updated. When I got up the next morning it was too late.

Anytime a company is going to have a promotion like this they really need to tell us what time it will start. Simply saying “Oct 1” is not good enough!

What’s the result?

Cheers for that leon_heller. I haven’t had time to properly get a chance to fix it, but yeah, looks like just an offset. Was quite suprised that it wasn’t configured in the example code that was loaded on to it.

They started it around 6pm GMT+12 time so as you can tell it was a very long night for me. Yeah, they really do need to state a time and timezone for things like that
