Installing Xbee S1 Firmware on Xbee S2

Hello,

It’s my first time using Xbee,

I want to communicate with Xbees, but I have Xbee S1 & S2

I know that they can’t communicate with each other (S1 & S2), but can I install the Xbee S1’s firmware on Xbee S2 ??

if I can do so, can xbees communicate with each other ??

No, they have completely different chips/microprocessors.

Series 2 are Zigbee only by license. Ember chipsets.

Series 1 are best for hobby/students. An option on these is DigiMesh if you just must try mesh networking. Freescale chipsets, derivative of 8051.
