I recently had to disassemble my SparkFun Facet (GPS-19984) when it was hung on startup, displaying “Rover” and not responding to the Power / Setup button. I disassembled it to disconnect the battery temporarily to restore it to proper operation. I made the mistake of not carefully noting the GNSS antenna’s original orientation within the enclosure.
I’ve looked through the SparkFun documents and searched these forums without finding an answer. I emailed support@sparkfun.com a few days ago, but there’s been no response.
It appears that of the four orientations, only two are possible, given the length of the antenna cable. I think I know which is the correct one, but I want to be sure, so as to avoid any chance of no longer conforming to the NGS antenna calibration data.
The opening on the underside of the antenna from which the cable emerges can either face toward the front of the Facet (toward the display panel) or toward the rear. Does anyone here know which is the correct orientation?
Thanks!
