IR emitter receiver with analog output

I’m wanting to use a pair of IR emitter / receivers with analog output to measure opacity of different materials. I was looking at:

and

I’m trying to locate a breakout board or schematic to get the analog voltage output. Any ideas?

Look at the “applications” on the product page for the 1’st emitter/detector pair you linked to.

Wow … sorry about that. Should of seen it.

Thanks!

Do a search across the forums here as there was a very similar discussion just a few months ago. And one some longer time go as well. There are several “gotchas” associated with the too simplistic scheme above. I wish I could recall the scientific instrument name mentioned as that would narrow the search down quickly.

still need the usual 38KHz carrier so the receiver can be narrow band and can ignore background IR that is not part of the measurement.
