Is it possible?

Hello to the world, new to me world of Arduino! I have what I think is a simple question. Is it possible with arduino, a LIDAR and programming to acquire a targets velocity, then using both the range and velocity can it be programmed to displaying the expected trajectory?

What is the target, how big is it, how fast is it moving and what sort of trajectory do you expect?
