Is pubic LoraWAN in existence today?

Hi everyone,

Is pubic LoraWAN in existence today? What I mean by that is something similar to the old days APRS where each of us could establish a 2 meter TNC and capture the APRS traffic within physical range and then forward it to a centralized network via the Internet thereby creating a massive coverage of “community” owned global network.

Identical concept is used by many other global networks, for example FlightAware, ACARS, etc

So is something similar done for LoraWAN today? Many community gateways extending a global and free LoraWAN network throughout the member gateways physical RF range?

Thanks
