I am looking into purchasing one of these LoRaSerial kits to communicate P2P in the field between my laptop and a Remote Operations Controller (Emerson ROC 800). We are currently using Parani blue tooth adapters, but having range issues. What I would like to know is will these LoRaSerial Kit be able to serve the purpose that I am needing.

I am needed to communicate wirelessly to configure and make adjustments to an RTU that collects data from multiple transmitters.
The needed Range is less than 1 Mile. The line of sight in the area that we are working is FLAT… but does have some equipment obstruction.

Any suggestions of direction is appreciated.

It would work great for things that do experience line-of-sight, but it will struggle with large metal obstructions…it’s probably worth a gamble to see what kind of results you get

You might also look into NB-iot if cell service is available, or even LTE devices
