I recently received a Jetbot AI kit. When I put it together, the motors were not running. I checked the wiring twice and made sure it was correct. Afterwards, I took off both of the motors that came with the kit and checked them on a breadboard with a battery, and they were both working. I connected one of them to the 5v and ground on the Quiic pHat, and it worked, so the Quiic pHat was not the problem. I think that the motor controller that came with the kit is bad.
Everything else seems to be working. I was able to get the robot onto the network, change the password, and connect to it from a web browser. The oled screen works. The camera is working and I was able to see the live stream from it in the web browser.
I’m sorry to hear that your motor driver is giving you difficulties. Can you provide a detailed picture of the TOP and BOTTOM of the motor driver board?
I have attached pictures of the back and front of the controller.
Only because it’s not pictured, you have the module connected with a qwiic cable correct?
It is connected into the Quiic pHat as shown in this picture. It is connected with the jumper wires that came with the kit into 5v and ground on the pHat. That is the only place I have it connected. Looking at the pictures in the instructions again, it seems to be connected to the OLed screen with another Quiic cable. My kit only came with one Quiic cable, which I thought was for the Oled screen. I will try using this Quiic cable with the motor controller instead of the screen and see if it works. Thank you for your help. I will let you know if it is moving after this.
It seems to be working now. I also found my missing Quiic cable. Thank you for your help!
