I just noticed this thread on this very Forum :-
viewtopic.php?t=9942
Seems a shame that JLink support cannot be pulled into the main line OpenOCD at least on Windows. I have many JTAG Interfaces including a JLink.
I guess others have only JLink and the proprietary alternative to OpenOCD is expensive for hobbyists and the like.
Has anybody other than the Author tried this ??
All the best one and all.
Hi,
It worked ok last time i tried it.
It is very very unlikely to ever appear in openocd trunk, mainly because it is a closed proprietary system, would create problems with openocd gpl licensing.
Cheers

I had not thought of the licensing issues.
I thought as the code that talked to the dll was GPL’d there would not be a problem.
It’s a shame !
The problem is not really GPL, but is that Segger with their jlink does not support Linux. ;-(
OpenOCD has to run on both Windows and Linux !

In OpenOCD mail list I seen a patch which makes JLink work in Linux, too.
actually I use it now w/o major issues. It is very bad a thing is not supported in main tree
but I could live with it.
