Hello
I just bought 2 Lilypads MP3. I tried the preloaded code (trigger sketch) connecting 2 speakers but just the left one is working.
I tried with the second Lilypad and it’s happening the same. I changed the speakers, verified the volume and everything seams ok/equal for both speakers/output code. Any ideas of what could be happening?
Thanks!
Can you provide a photo showing how you have the speakers attached to the board?
Also, verify your file isn’t just sending audio to the left channel. If there’s no audio on the right channel, you will never hear anything on the right speaker.
Hello!
I used the suggested connection showed on the webpage. https://cdn.sparkfun.com/assets/9/7/b/6 … 000000.jpg
About the audio channels:
I used the example sketch “Trigger” from Arduino database (which is preloaded and I tried loading it again), which should work on both channels for default. I didn’t see any line code where you can choose the channel, just the volume and both are the equal ( MP3player.setVolume(10,10); )
In fact, I would like to control the channels in an independent way, if you know how to do that it would be very appreciated.
Thanks!
Do you happen to have a pair of stereo headphones you could plug into the 3.5mm jack on the board?
Also, I’ve attached a set of test MP3 files for you to try.
Let me know if both channels work through your headphones with the test tracks.

Hi!
I tried with your audios with headphones and both channels work fine. I tried again with the speakers and your audios and the problem remains.
OK, hearing both channels in your headphones verifies the MP3 chip and the sound files are OK. It could be a connection issue or a speaker issue, or possibly one other chip on the board. I’m definitely going to need a photo showing your connections so please send one so I can see what your setup looks like.
Also, if you swap the working speaker and non working speakers, does the speaker that doesn’t work switch sides? You haven’t uploaded any different sketches to the board yet have you?
Hi!
I swapped the speakers, and the problem remains so it’s not a speaker issue. I am using the original code in one of the lilypads, on the other one, I tried uploading again the trigger sketch, a new code I made and with all of them, I have the same issue (in both lilypads).
I am using the same electronic disposition as the reference. I couldn’t upload the photos through this message (some HTML error) so this is the link https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ … sp=sharing
Thanks!
Hey!
Thanks for the photos. Those do help us understand how you have things connected.
I’m kind of at a loss as to what could be causing this.
Did you purchase these boards directly from SparkFun? If yes, can you PM me your order number?
Hi!
Yes, I did. This is the invoice number #5437025.
Thanks for your help!
