Lilypad MP3

Hi,

I have several questions on the use of the Lilypad MP3, hope that I can find some help.

  1. I am interested if it is possible to trigger several files than 5 – in terms of playing various random files by closing one switch on the board. So to say to have a bank of audio files for each inputs…?

  2. Instead of ordinary switches I would rather use either capacitive sensing or variable resistance of some kind. If anybody has done such projects, I would be happy to hear about the results and the tips for changes in the code.

  3. I also might want to use several inputs than five - what would be the best way of multiplying the inputs: by using several of the microcontrollers running individually or is there another way when using only one of the Lilypad MP3’s…? Or would another microcontroller serve better?

  4. I am aiming for a no-computer setup, and also lipo batteries are a plus, as i want to avoid using power cords. and the running time is only 3 days, so i am thinking that a 2000mAh lipo would be fine…?

Any thorough explanation I would appreciate (I am still a learner)…!

Thanks.

Off the shelf, it will play specific audio files when any of its five trigger inputs are grounded, or you can solder in an RGB rotary encoder (not included) and load new firmware (included in the link below) to add a user interface for track selection and volume control!

Of course it doesn’t have to be an encoder, you could use a keypad or multipad cap sensing IC and modify the code appropriately.

i am looking for human skin input – and would like to use capacitive sensing. if i could get it work in a way that the conductive ink that i am using is sensing the person already from approx. 30-40 cm.

alternatively i was thinking that variable resistance could work for my project… also made with conductive ink.

i will have to make the right changes in the code – and any tips that could get me started are more than appreciated.

I think I would give it a try with the MPR121 breakout board – and if anyone had already tried to hook it up to the Lilypad MP3, I would appreciate some advice.

Where should I look for making changes in the trigger code…?

Also I notice that D2 pin is not represented on the Lilypad MP3 – is it ok to use one of the other pins (D0 or D1) on the Lilypad?
