LiPo Charger Plus

Hi @all

I am using a LiPo Charger Plus and I am trying to understand its functions. I haven’t much experience in Electronics and I am trying to understand the main chip function.

I saw a table on the datasheet of MCP73833. Can anyone guide me what exactly part number has been used in Lipo Charger Plus and why? I am attaching a table picture which is confusing me.

Hello!

Looks like we use the MCP73833T-FCI/MF on this board. Not really sure why this specific chip was chosen over the others, I’d have to guess that it was the best match based on cost, availability and functionality but there could be other factors at play. This particular chip does work with all our single cell lipo batteries and that was certainly a consideration as well.

What I noticed a timer period parameters which you can see at the last column of table has something to do while choosing this IC. I also want to use UN package in my next project but I am not sure which part number should I use. As i used Sparkfun board and it worked well. That’s why I want to design my project by considering it reference. Are you sure that the Model number is MCP73833T-FCI/MF?
