Reverse engineering the chip itself… or something that the chip is attached to? Reverse engineering a program on the chip? The board? What is it that you are wanting to reverse engineer…
BTW, soliciting somebody to reverse engineer something on the internet is a good way to open yourself up for a lawsuit, good luck.

Reverse engineering doesn’t typically violate copyright, aiui. (Unless you end up copying firmware or board layouts wholesale.)
It depends on what is done with the code. Simply reverse-engineering something isn’t illegal, selling the code or something that uses it is illegal.
