LoRa Serial Not Flashing as expected when powered on

  • I have a SparkFun LoRaSerial Kit - 915MHz.

  • When I power on one of the units by plugging it into USB, the green and blue lights flash as expected.

  • I am also able to press the train button on this device by holding the train button until the blue light comes on and then the green lights start to cyclon

  • When I power on the second unit all that happens is the red led comes on.

  • The blue and green lights do not flash

  • The training button does not cause the leds to do anything when pressed

Using the arduino method, I reloaded the firmware to the non-functioning device and this did not do anything.

Sidenote: When I open a serial window, I am given the option of choosing a com port. When I unplug the device that com port disappears. (working on a mac)

Also noting that I took off the cases in the event I would need the reset button. The non-functioning device is noticeably warmer to the touch than the functioning device. (functioning here is defined as the leds are not blinking as this document says https://docs.sparkfun.com/SparkFun_LoRa … ed_states/

“When the device is first powered on or is reset, all LEDs will blink quickly three times indicating system reset.”
