LoRaWAN Losing Over 50% of Messages

Hello,

Right now I’m set up with the Sparkfun Pro RF and the Sparkfun 1-Channel Gateway, both with little pigtail antennas connected with a u.Fl adapter, and both in the same room.

I have the Pro RF set to send a 5 byte message every 15 seconds using the Hookup Guide. However, the gateway only seems to pickup a fraction of them.weird-lora-behavior.PNG. There is also a fluctuation in the pRSSI even though neither device was touched during these measurements.

What could be the problem? Could this have anything to do with duty cycle restrictions?

So i did more testing and it seems like my antennas work (I lose like 30dB pRSSI when I unscrew them). Also the pRSSI fluctuating stopped. I feel like there might be something wrong with my gateway.
