lower M9N GPS breakout power consumption disable LED

Good morning,

I am making a GPS logger with an M9N GPS breakout and I am trying to lower power consumption to the minimum as I am running it off battery. I would like to disable the LED’s on the board due to it being in a location I cannot see the LEDs anyway.

I currently have it setup to output the only message I need at a 5s interval on only the port I am using.

Any other suggestions would be helpful as well.

You can cut the 2 traces mentioned in ‘jumpers’ here https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/sp … e-overview

You might be able to make use of a sleep function to save a bit more as well
