I know this sounds ridiculous but i would like to ask about the Linear technology BMS LTC 6803-1 circuit board

I would like to ask that while connecting the battery with the wires to monitor the voltages and temperature of the cells, how do i go about discharging the cells. As there is an option in the software to discharge the cells, when i enable it, the cells do not seem to be discharging.

sorry for the stupid question but i do hope that you guys will help me as I am doing my final year project

Well, Its been 3 months since your post. Are you still looking for an answer?

Figure 12 of their datasheet shows you what to do.

(A FET and discharge resistor in series across each cell, A zener for Vgs clamping and a series R for FET gate drive)

It shows the circuit for just one cell. You will need to repeat this for your entire string.
