Is it necessary to run Lumenati LED boards with PCA9306 Level Translator Breakout like in this example (https://cdn.sparkfun.com/r/600-600/asse … 1_bb_2.png) even when I connect them to RedBoard Qwiic with or without an external power supply? If so Why?
In the hookup guide we used a 3.3 volt Pi and the Lumenati needs 5 volt data and clock. The PCA9306 converts 3.3 volt data and clock to the 5 volts the Luminati needs to operate.
As long as you’re using a 5 volt RedBoard Qwiic, you don’t need the PCA9306 since everything is already at 5 volts.
