Hi,
I have got that small robot project that I control from my Mac computer over Bluetooth.
Now I would like to add a remote camera to it but don’t know where to start.
The camera must be wireless and its power should be supplied by a battery.
The video stream should be a normal webcam feed that I can then embed in a webpage like any other webcam using that sort of software: http://www.evological.com/evocam.html
So what should I do? I can’t find any solution online, they all seem to require a normal power socket supply or they are made to work with analog TV and have nothing to do with a normal digital webcam feed that you can use on the computer…
Anyway, this is not my field so I’m calling for help here!
Thanks in advance.
Mikael
WiFi camera.
Runs on 5V or 12V power adapter from AC power. Replace wall power with battery near 12V or if 5V, a 6V battery and a series-diode to drop.
If camera can be setup for 802.11 ad-hoc mode you’re done; just setup PC to match.

Use WiFi router or access point, connected to PC’s ethernet, or if PC/laptop has WiFi, it becomes another client.
Easier: Use an analog wireless camera. Cheap-o X10 cam would do. Connect receiver’s video to a video capture device (USB) for PC.
Thanks a lot.
Could you give more details about your power supply comment?
“Runs on 5V or 12V power adapter from AC power. Replace wall power with battery near 12V or if 5V, a 6V battery and a series-diode to drop.”.
Let’s say I have got a wifi camera that requires DC 5V. What do I need exactly to make it work with some normal batteries I can buy in any shop? (like the standard rectangle-shaped 9v ones)… like stuff that doesn’t require any soldering.
Thanks!
