Magnetic actuator control

Hi there,

I am looking to incorporate some mini magnetic actuators in a project http://www.microflight.com/Online-Catal … uator-1-1g . They have proportional control and I am in search of some sort of pwm driver. There used to be one available that converts pwm into a two wire control, but it lis no longer made, http://www.flytron.com/micro-rc-electro … river.html . Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Cheers

Murray

I think you meant that the device converted a servo type signal (1-2 ms pulse @ 50 Hz) into a PWM signal, one capable of driving the actuator. Some small microcontroller could do the task but would lack the current drive needed for the actuator you mention. You’d need to add a FET or the like. I bet some form of 555 circuit would also do the trick but it would need some external Rs and Cs. I’m not aware of any single IC solution like the one you linked to.
