Hi, All —
Am I reading the data sheet of the COM-00526 https://www.sparkfun.com/products/526 correctly that the max input is 15 V?
I am putting an Artemis Nano in a portable speaker project. The current design is to run at 12V so I’m sure this will work for my present application, but I may want to scale up the power for a bigger speaker system in the future. If I up the power to 24 V is there a 3.3 V regulator that I can use in that case?
Thanks,
M

Not sure about the 24v options…check Digi-Key to see what’s available
You could also use a speaker with different ohm rating to deliver more ‘power’ at 12v, or separate power sources, or maybe a stepdown converter (not sure if these work for analog audio…might create a bunch of ‘noise’)
But finding one on DigiKey is likely the simplest/easiest way to get it done
Thanks, TS-Russell. It’s helpful to have a second set of eyes take a look. It’s a rush job so I was hoping to minimize orders but I think you’re right that if I want to have the flexibility I’ll just need to bite the bullet and get a part where I more options. It increasingly appears a Digi-Key order is unavoidable anyway. -M
