Input voltage is 12V. Is it OK to operate the COM-15208 at a custom output voltage of 1.5V? The data sheet lists minimum output voltage of 2.5V. I added a custom resistor (59 kOhm) and it worked.

Might not be 100% in spec but if it’s working OK for your application I’d say you’re OK.
If it works, it works.
The convertors are cool but, if it’s always 1.5 volts out and at least a few more in, a simple little regulator might save some space, silver, and silicon.
