I have a MAX17048 Qwiic Fuel Guage and I also have a MAX17043 Fuel Guage. No matter what I try I’m getting a voltage of 5.02 with both of these.

In troubleshooting I’ve tried the examples and none can find the 17048 yet if I scan for IIC devices using the I2C scanner sketch I get two, 0x60 and 0x6b. I get these devices without the MAX17048 attached so I’m guessing they’re built into the Arduino.

This is with nothing but the Arduino MKR1010 attached to the MAX17048 via the Qwiic connector, nothing else attached save for the USB cable to a MacBook. I’ve tried all 4 examples for the MAX17048, modified to use the MAX17048, and none can find the board.

As I said, I’ve also got the MAX17043 which doesn’t use Qwiic and tried it as well and still get the 5.02 reading which I get even if either of the 1704x boards are attached or not. I’ve also tested with or without a battery attached.

Any suggestions?

I was mistaken, the voltage is 5.12 not 5.02

Is there a battery attached?

Yes. I’ve tried it with a battery and without one, same result.
