I have a project I am working on and I am lost on one small aspect…
I have a hobby dc motor that is mounted in such a way that I need it to turn a gear that is at a 90 degree angle from it. I have a few questions about how to do this. And maybe someone has a better idea.

Does Sparkfun have a beveled gear? If so I cannot find it, could someone link to it?

This motor has one function, to turn a gear that does nothing. It has a piece of flexible plastic that is mounted on the side of the gear that acts as a noise maker. The gear turns, each tooth of the gear would in turn strike the flexible plastic piece making a rattling noise. Yes this is by design lol. My question is, is there a better way to make a loud startling noise?

Is there another way to to turn that gear? Unfortunately it sits in such a small area, putting it on its side will not work.
