I’ve got a custom Cadsoft Eagle library that I have created for my own designs. I use Eagle on two machines, and now because I was a bit careless, the ‘same’ library has two different versions. One version has some parts that the other doesn’t have, and vice versa. It’s not horrible, but I’d like to merge the two libraries, and then be much more careful going forward to avoid this in the future.
I’ve read the recommended method of having both libraries open and using ‘Copy to Library’ to get the job done, but that seems like a bookkeeping/logistical nightmare. I was thinking about trying a text compare program (the libraries seem to be plain ASCII) like Beyond Compare to get the job done. Unfortunately, the library format isn’t very clear, and I fear creating a bigger problem.
Ideas?
