I would like to demonstrate metal detector operation in one of my workshops. I came across this demonstration on YouTube, which I got inspired by: https://youtu.be/XFLcAd76XHw

Will the following product from Sparkfun work for me to do the same or do I need something else? https://www.sparkfun.com/products/19843

It does allow for detection of metal objects, though Mikroe doesn’t list a maximum read distance (which will largely depend on the object’s characteristics)…but yes. You could always get one and test it out :slight_smile:
