MICREL KSZ8721BL without pin 22

I’m developing some ethernet stuff for the Olimex lpc-P2378 board from olimex. The PHY chip on the board from Micrel (KSZ8721BL) is missing pin 22. But there is a copper track to pad 22 on the PCB.

Is pin 22 (CRS/RMII_BTB) needed for proper function?

Or is this chip missing this pin because of a routing bug in the pcb?

I have two generationsof this board. On the first one the pin is connected, on the second it is not. They both work the same. By the way, I don’t need them any more, I have 3 boards, $75 if you’re interested,
