Nothing shows up on the screen. Everything looks like it is working, but nothing displays on the screen. The I uploaded the hello world sketch, nothing happens. It uploads to the Microview, the led’s flash, but nothing shows up on the screen. Is there a .hex around with the original firmware? Any help would be great.
Did the screen work originally? There should have been some code on the MicroView that used the screen when it arrived.
I can get you the HEX file for the original firmware, but there’s not an easy way to send that to the MicroView via the Arduino IDE. Does the Hello World example upload without any errors?
The demo screen was on when I first plugged it in to the USB programmer. I did the default download with no errors. I then downloaded a hex file for the FDL3 from Project FDL’s GetHub page. I used Xloader to download that hex file to the Microview. The screen has been blank every since. I am not sure what went wrong, but I don’t think there is anything physically wrong with the Microview. Can I use Xloader to download the original firmware, or can you provide me with directions to do it from Arduino environment.
I’m out of the office until Monday but I should be able to find the original HEX file and send that to you once I’m back. Uploading the original HEX file should bring the display back to life.
The attached file is the original firmware and bootloader combined. I don’t know for sure if Xloader is able to burn that, but this should get you back to the original factory condition if it can.
I have been working with this now for a couple of weeks. I tried Tried to download the file you gave me both with Xloader and using the command line examples that I have found on the web. Nothing seams to get the Microview working. I just get a message “Download failed”. I have tried to just download the hello sample with the same result. At this point I thank there is something physically wrong with this Microview. I would like to get a exchange. What do I need to do to make that happen?
I just did the same procedure to upload the hex file to a second Microview I have, that I bought in the same order as the one that is not working. and it worked fine. This tells me that the problem is the Miroview, I need a return authorization number to get this one exchanged. Thanks
Hang on to the bad MicroView for now in case we need to get it back for testing.
