MIDI question- send note value greater than 127?

Greetings

I am using a Tsunami wav trigger to initiate playback of >200 samples stored on the Tsunami via midi hex commands

I have found success in using following hex numbering … ie 90 3C 7F

9 = note on message

0 = channel 1

3C = note number 60

7F = velocity 127

However, this limits me to only 128 triggered samples. Is it possible to trigger the higher value notes via MIDI…?

Thanks in advance

I’m not a MIDI expert, but I think there are only 128 total notes. (0-127)

You might be able to use banks to add more virtual notes.

You can send a program change to access higher banks: [Tsunami MIDI Implementation](https://robertsonics.com/tsunami-user-guide/#midi-implementation)

Thanks for your replies… I know it should be able to be done, will persevere with trying to get these 2 systems to talk to each other… it appears that most programs assume that only an idiot would want to send more than 127 note values, as the max keyboard size would be 88 notes.

Thanks for the tip on program changes to change the banks… will experiment further…

Apologies for the meaningless nitpick but there are 92 & 97 key pianos.

Not.

Cheap.
