Motor to control friction wheels

Hello all!

My latest project involves a motor that can drive an approximately 25 oz wheel, however the wheel needs to be spinning extremely fast, at around 4000-6000 rpm. The wheel is about 6 inches in radius. Is it possible to use a cheap brush motor that can obtain these speeds (how will the load affect it), or is there something else that I should try.

Thanks

Is the wheel the load of the motor? Or is something else touching the wheel that must be driven? You need specific data on that. Friction, Moment of Inertia together with rotational acceleration OR Torque with rpm must be known.

Cheapness has no concept in engineering or physics. Only in economics. Given enough time and no (static) friction even your smartphone vibrator motor would get it up to speed.
