This might be a newbie question.
I am about to buy some development kits from Olimex, and has to buy a programmer too.
Is correct understood that the MSP430-JTAG works under Linux, and that the USB version don’t?

This might have been the case in the past but I’ve got the TI USB FET working under Linux:
