I have been making parts in Eagle for a while now but basic things like IC’s and Resistors and custom pads etc…
I recently have the need to create a resistor part but it has to be for top and bottom layer and be through hold and surface mount.
Is this possible in eagle ?
To clarify i have a image of what i have tried… which is Creating a normal 6mm resistor part and using the milling layer and polygon tool i created the shape of the resistor smd over and around the through hole.
Still not certain what you are trying to do. I guess a through hole part with a size and shape pad? I’d just drop two rectangles on each part. One top layer and one bottom layer.
You do not need to make a library part to do this. An SMD resistor will fit inside the layout of a through-hole resistor. Just wire up a through-hole resistor and SMD resistor in parallel in your schematic and on the board, place the SMD in between the holes of the through-hole resistor.
