I would like to put GPS chips in valuables like electronics and tools ect… I don’t now much about GPS just what I read. Is this possible for me to do? What kind of chip would I need or best to use? Any suggestions would be great!

Is it possible? Yes. Is it possible for you to do? Depends on how much you read…
You’ll need to be much more specific about your idea and your application if you want any more concrete answers on this forum. Why do you need GPS in valuables? To keep track of them? If so, why not just buy one of the GPS tracking devices Sparkfun sells? It will save you a lot of development nightmares if you’re not too knowledgeable about electronics.
Will.
Most GPS trackers only log where the device has been, you need to retreive it to see where it went. If you want to know in real time where your valueable tool is you need to attach to it not only a GPS receiver, but also an emitter of some kind so that is can transmit its current position to you.
