Ok I recently picked up an Xbox 360 slim. It has the red dot. And gives error code 0101 which is the south bridge needs to be reflowed. I’m not really sure what this process actually is. I’ve watched videos on YouTube and pretty much know the order of operations. But my question is can I use a conductive epoxy instead of flux? I currently have epoxy and no flux and I don’t really know when I would be able to get flux. Should I just put that project on hold till I can get the flux?
No - get flux…conductive epoxy is for adhering something that also need to conduct electricity…flux does a different job entirely
You’ll have more luck with something like this in a an Xbox-centric, or consumer electronics repair forum
Thank you very much! That little bit you just told me is very helpful for somebody like me that literally doesn’t have any experience. I haven’t messed with it at all besides cleaning the Xbox so far I’ll do some more research and get all the proper material that I will need. I’m not sure exactly where would I buy flux? Does Best Buy carry that I live in a small town in Louisiana only store we have is a Walmart.
We have Search Results for flux - SparkFun Electronics, or amazon/walmart ship to store?
