[The Pocket AVR Programmer seems like a nice item at a good price, but from people’s comments it sounds like it performs its USB communication at the wrong voltage and fails on some hardware as a result…
I was wondering if you’re planning to revise the design to incorporate the voltage-dropping diodes from the original version. If so, may I suggest another change? Given a board like this I’d most often want to mount it inside an enclosure. It seems like the USB connector doesn’t hang far enough off the board to clear the enclosure plastic on this item. The rest of the design should be OK for mounting in an enclosure (the board can be mounted from the inside-top of the enclosure with an opening for the ICSP header - the only other issue would be the “ext power” switch, but it’d be relatively easy to add connections to a wired switch mounted to the enclosure…)](http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=9231)
