Noise reduction of Teensy Audio Adapter

Hello:

Regarding the document titled “Proto Pedal Example: Programmable Digital Pedal”,

there is discussion of a modification " to help lower the noise floor of the Audio Adapter".

I contacted the referenced author of this modification (omjanger on the PJRC forum),

and he told me that this modification was for a circuit of his own design, and not necessarily for the Teensy Audio Adapter.

But the photo in the document appears to indicate a modification to the Teensy Audio Adapter.

My questions are:

Was this modification done to an actual Teensy Audio Adapter?

And was noticeable noise reduction observed?

Thank you.

Hello Paul,

I’ve thumbed through the post you mentioned. So his fix was for an adapter board he made. Not necessarily the one we sell. However, they use the same codec chip. His fix was meant for that codec chip on the same line that we mentioned. Doing this fix on the adapter board we sell should reproduce the same results he posts.

Unfortunately, I can’t guarantee that you’ll see exactly the same behaviors. This post was made 4 years ago.

OK, thanks for this info. I’ll “keep it in my back pocket” as I work on my project (programmable guitar effects pedal).

Paul
