Nokia LCD pinout suggestions

Hello!

I just wanted to let you know that the pinout you have listed for the nokia phone does NOT match the pin numbers on the 0.5mm connector that is attatched to the flex cable. The corner pins are clearly labeled ‘1’ ‘5’ ‘6’ and ‘10’ however these numberes are mirrored as shown on your LCD page.

what I mean is, the LED voltage is on pin 1 + and 2 - and not 9 and 10.

I’m not sure where you got the pin numbers. I can even show you a photograph of what I mean if you want me to clarify.

I’m just a little annoyed as I spent the last week trying to get the LED backlight to work when I had the wrong pins (I was using pins 9 and 10 when in fact it is on pin 1 and 2) and of course because I put 7 volts on the reset and 3.3 Vcc pins (the real pins 9 and 10) the LCD is now fried which is a waste of my 20$!!

grrrr!

Perhaps the pins listed match SOME pinout somewhere but you should at least place a note on the page that the pins labeled on the LCD flex connector itsself do NOT match the pinout you have listed!

nebarnix is correct. The pin out in on SFE’s Eagle footprint is backwards.

LCD flipped right side up would make the pin numbering as follows:

Oh, also, Sparkfun’s mirror image matches their pin out on the item page and the schematic for Sparkfun’s breakout board.

However, the pin out does NOT match the device’s physical markings.

The pin out should be listed as:

1 LED+ (Backlight 6-7v)

2 LED GND (Backlight)

3 GND

4 N/C

5 VCC-Display (3.3v)

6 CS

7 SCLK

8 SDATA

9 RESET

10 VCC-Digital (3.3v)

HELLO ALL,

Is this information correct?!

HELLO ALL,

Is this information correct?!

Look at the pictures, I think it’s pretty obvious.

it’s not that abious because in my LCD if i follow this picture, the PIN 10 is the LED+ and not the Vin.

that’s Why i am asking!!!

A good reference for the pins is sparkfun breakout board.

[PDF Datasheet

[Schematic

If you use their (wrong) eagle footprint, then the pin out for the LCD on the schematic is ‘correct’. (Post referencing data available as of August 06, 2007 - footprint and schematic are still not updated).

If you use the correct pinout according to the physical markings on the device, you must use the above pin out (in the thread).](http://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/LCD/ColorLCD-Carrier-Schematic.pdf)](http://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/LCD/ColorLCD-Carrier-Datasheet.pdf)

Thank you, it’s working now.

Can someone provide the part number of the mating PCB connector for this Nokia LCD?
