nRF2401 Direct Mode

Hello,

Ok I got the ShockBurst to work. But the quality isnt that great.

I lose a lot of data and I don’t know how to fix it right now.

I’m trying to do Direct Mode however its not working at all.

Can someone give me any clues on how to do the direct mode?

I’m not sure how it syncronizes itself. I think it has something to do with the preamble being 01010101 so it can syncronize itself.

So my idea is this:

turn on CE, the nRF will start listening to the air.

Then there is a delay and then the clock will start alternating along with DATA. But does the DATA contain the preamble? or was it lost to syncronize the data?

any advice would be great.

Thanks.

Hello,

Don’t know much about the Direct Mode… However, I do have the ShockMode working… What was your range using the ShockMode. I can only get about 75 feet. The datasheets says it can get up to 280meters running at 250kps?

Did you try that? and what was your range?

for range I only tried a few meters because that’s what I needed,

but even with a few meters I lose a lot of data.

I’m still trying to figure this out somewhat. I’m sending data (I think), but I’m not receiving it (I think).

If anyone can look at the nRF2401 datasheet on page 13(of 39) the Direct Mode Receive.

Step 3 Once a valid preamble arrives, CLK1 and DATA will lock on to the

incoming signal and the RF package will appear at the DATA pin with the

same speed as it is transmitted.

What does it mean will lock on to the incoming signal?
