Olimex LPC-MT-2138 and LCD question

Hi all,

I’m running the LCD test programs supplied with the board and occasionally (1 time out of 3) the LCD doesn’t initialise after reset / powerup - ie. no display. The program carries on running and everything else works fine (buttons, beeps, LED etc).

I’m using Rowley Crossworks to compile / upload by JTAG and have also ported the IAR EW example across to see if there is a code problem, but the other example does the same :s

Does anyone know where this could be coming from? Could it be a bad board / LCD? Maybe it’s a timing issue?

Also when I compile in release, the whole thing goes crazy, but that’s another problem…

I’ve tried increasing the delay to give the LCD time to ramp up, but this makes no difference. I just can’t figure it out.

I came across this post for the LCD that’s on the olimex board:
